About Microsoft Certification: The IBM Netfinity Gigabit Ethernet Adapter is Microsoft PC99 and SDG 2.0 certified for the ndis4 and ndis5 miniport drivers. About making Drivers Diskette: You can run MAKENT40.BAT or MAKEW2K.BAT to create an NT 4.0 or W2K Drivers diskette from the CD shipped with the adapter. About Adapter Failover with NT 4.0 or W2K: The IBM Netfinity Gigabit Ethernet Adapter is capable of failing over to NOT ONLY another adapter like itself, BUT ALSO to all of IBM Netfinity 10/100 Ethernet Adapters that are Intel 82559-based, as well as any Intel 82559-based LOM on IBM Netfinity servers. Adapter Load Balancing and EtherChannel are supported for NT 4.0. Adapter Load Balancing is supported for W2K, but not EtherChannel. About Adapter Failover with Novell NetWare: For Novell NetWare, only Failover is supported, to the same type adapter only. About Active PCI Hotplug: NT 4.0 hotplug and Novell NetWare hotplug are supported with IBM Netfinity hotplug-capable servers. Check IBM Support Web site for more details regarding hotplug.
